CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL - CLAIM WHAT IS YOURS

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

 CLAIM WHAT IS YOURS

You have authority only over what you love.

THE biblical verse says: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and he who loves it will eat its fruits. Around us, we are always accompanied by our relatives. Many of them do not have God as King of their lives. In any case, it will be the opposite, they are so far from God that they can only live in chaos and evidently the peace that they should manifest, they cannot live it. In the Bible we have a curious story: Abraham had a nephew named Lot. With good will they both parted and Lot took the best path to follow in the middle of the desert with pastures and water for him and his animals. One day King Chedorlaomer invaded the territory and kidnapped Lot and his relatives. The moment Abraham learned of this situation, he took three hundred and eighteen of his hired hands and faced the armies of five different kings that dominated the region. Abraham knew enough about the authority and love he felt for Lot that he was not afraid to face this group of five kings led by Chedorlaomer. For Abraham, Lot was much more than Hay's son, for he took him as a son with the death of his brother. And now Lot was kidnapped, and Abraham did not hesitate to claim what was his for the love he had for him and for the authority he had over Lot's life.

“WHEN THE NIGHT CAME, BECAUSE IT WAS THE PREPARATION, THAT IS, THE EVE OF THE SABBATH DAY, JOSEPH OF ARIMATEA, NOBLE MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL, WHO ALSO WAITED FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD, CAME AND BOLDLY ENTERS THE BODY OF PILATE, AND REQUESTED THE BODY JESUS."

Mark 15. 42-43

It seems that, with that same love, power and authority, Joseph of Arimathea claimed what was his, the inert body of Jesus of Nazareth. José did not know anything about the miracle that will happen. For this reason, despite having witnessed the betrayal of Judas, the rejection of the clergy, he did not doubt for a single second that Pilate himself claimed the body of Christ, even if his own life was confirmed. Like Abraham, Joseph ran the risk of confronting the Roman governor and the ecclesiastical leadership of the time. Joseph claimed what was his, the body of the Master, the body of the Son of God.

“PILATO WAS SURPRISED THAT HE HAD ALREADY DEAD; AND MAKING THE CENTURION COME, ASKED HIM IF HE WAS ALREADY DEAD. AND INFORMED BY THE CENTURION, HE GAVE THE BODY TO JOSÉ, WHO BOUGHT A SHEET, AND TAKING IT OFF, WRAPPED IT IN THE SHEET, AND PUT IT IN A GRAVE THAT WAS DIG IN A ROCK, AND ROLLED A STONE AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE GRAVE.”

Mark 15. 44-46

The adversary when he sees us dead, he considers that he no longer has anything else to do with us. He simply considers his mission to be over. That is why Christ declared: And he said to all: If anyone wants to come after me, deny himself, and take up his cross every day, and follow me. It is necessary to die daily, so the adversary will know that he has nothing to do with us, since we no longer live but Christ lives in us. In the same way, if we have family members who need to be released, let's reclaim what is ours and allow God to act again in the same way with Abraham and with Joseph of Arimathea, to give glory and honour to God.

God bless you.
