CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL- HOLDING ON TO THEIR PROMISES

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

HOLDING ON TO THEIR PROMISES

God is faithful and always keeps his promises.

IT´S very typical that as human beings we expect to have an inheritance. This does not mean that this inheritance is always cheap. My parents always told me that their greatest inheritance would be the education they gave me. And I have to be very honest, I am a very happy person to enjoy this magnificent inheritance that my old people have given me. As the word of God says, the rest that they can leave me is pure addition. However, all the inheritances that we can receive from our Heavenly Father, which are represented in his promises, God himself will fulfil. As I commented in another message, all those promises given by God are fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Therefore, if we do not recognise Christ as our Redeemer and Saviour, we will not be fully living the promises of God.

"BROTHERS, LET ME TELL YOU FRANKLY THAT THE PATRIARCH DAVID DIED AND WAS BURIED, AND HIS GRAVE IS STILL WITHIN US."

Acts 2.29

Let us pray together: My God, you are not a human being to lie. Therefore, I know that if you promised it, you will fulfil it. The kingdom of Heaven has become evident in my life because Jesus Christ is my Redeemer and Saviour. Now what I live, I do it with the hope that you will give me your blessing, because I go according to your will, extending the kingdom of heaven.

David was a man after God's own heart despite all his mistakes. Contrary to what religiousness tells us, David was blessed by God, because God promised David that his throne would have an occupant forever. And that promise or inheritance, David received through Jesus of Nazareth. Let us remember that Joseph was in the genealogical line of King David: Genealogical table of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham; Matthew 1,1. When we allow the Kingdom of Heaven to materialise in each one of us, our mentality is transformed by the Mind of Christ. Therefore, we are justified through Jesus Christ and thus, we can hold on to all his promises.

“BUT DAVID WAS A PROPHET, AND HE KNEW THAT GOD HAD PROMISED HIM WITH AN OATH THAT HE WOULD MAKE ONE OF HIS DESCENDANTS KING.”

Acts 2.30

Let us pray together: Dear God, how great is your love for each one of us. Therefore, a thousand thanks for every promise fulfilled by Jesus Christ. Above all, the contract of eternal life with you and for all eternity.

The Holy Spirit of God is the one who places in us to want as well as to do. We are integral people and living that lifestyle goes through two simple processes: materialising the Kingdom of Heaven and living with the Mind of Christ in each one of us. I know it's easy to say, but let's remember that the worst task is the one that is not done or, at least, the one that is not tried to be done. Cheer up!
