CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL - THE EXPECTATION FULFILLED

 CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

THE EXPECTATION FULFILLED

The limit of our life is at our feet.

ON a certain occasion I was talking to a young Muslim man and I asked him why they couldn't believe in Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God. This young man cleverly answered me with a counter question: can the power of the sun be encapsulated in one hand? Not in a hundred thousand hands, I replied. So why do you pretend to put the power of God in a single human being? Was his response. And this simile is ideal for understanding the power of God and how God's sovereignty acts since God is not due to human philosophical concepts, and of course, divine thoughts do not have to respond to human logic. Finally, because it is so difficult for us to understand God's way of thinking, we have false expectations of what God is going to do and we believe that God will do it the way we budget. However, God himself declares: For I know very well the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for well-being and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope, Jer. 29, 11. Therefore, today we can be completely confident that God will fulfil his own expectations and not ours.

"IT IS NECESSARY THAT HE REMAIN IN HEAVEN UNTIL THE TIME OF THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS ARRIVES, AS GOD HAS ANNOUNCED SINCE CENTURIES AGO THROUGH HIS HOLY PROPHETS OF HIM."

Acts 3, 21

Let us pray together: Father God, your sovereignty and power have no comparison. My God, your kingdom is eternal and your love for me surpasses all understanding and comprehension. Therefore, today more than ever, I urgently need to manifest the Mind of Christ acting in my life, so as not to exhaust myself in my own expectations and, of course, not to try to curb your power and sovereignty.

Another false expectation that we have is to consider that God is going to act in our time. But how are we going to ask for time from the only one who is eternal? And it is that we are so deluded, we believe that God understands our times when the apostle Peter said: But do not forget, dear brothers, that for the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day, 2 Pet. 3.8. In other words, we don't have the slightest idea how to calculate God's time. Well, what we can be sure of is that God, before acting, will communicate it to his children because God only has welfare plans for his children. Therefore, in the AT we find: Truly, the Almighty Lord does nothing without first revealing his designs to his servants the prophets, Am. 3,7. Everything that God promised, he willingly promised himself and God is not a human being to lie.

“MOSES SAID: THE LORD YOUR GOD WILL CAUSE FOR YOU, FROM AMONG HIS OWN BROTHERS, A PROPHET LIKE ME; PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING I SAY TO YOU.”

Acts 3, 22

Let us pray together: Jesus of Nazareth, please, continue to minister to my life through your Holy Spirit so that, Father God, he will declare his plans to me and thus, I will generate false expectations and therefore not give them to others. Jesus Christ, keep working on me until he reaches your stature, that of a perfect human being. I praise and exalt you. Amen.

If a human being as full of faith as Moses was, declared that a prophet of God like him would arise, and the Jews did not believe their national hero, why are we going to be so obtuse of not believing Jesus of Nazareth? that he is the Messiah and Christ? Yes Moses himself on the Mount of Transfiguration fulfilled the divine mandate commanded there: This is my beloved Son, whom I have chosen: listen to him, Mat. 17, 5c. Why will we not prostrate ourselves before the power and majesty of Jesus Christ declaring that he is our redeemer, and saviour and that thanks to him, today our relationship with God has been restored? Let us not doubt it anymore, God fulfilled the expectation and demonstrated all his love for each one of us through the sacrifice of Jesus of Nazareth on the Cross of Calvary. Today we surrender our lives to God.

God bless you. Remember to share this text with as many people as possible.
