                                             TODAY we are the face of God in the midst of this society. One day in the congregation a woman approached me with a complaint and it was this: "I have never seen God." At that precise moment and guided by the Spirit of Christ, I led this girl to the bathroom. There with great respect and care, I placed him in front of the mirror. I started with a simple question: can you see God now? He logically told me that no, that whoever was watching would never come close to the concept we have of God. Ok, I replied. Could you smile and look at yourself again, I replied. She did it. Now you know that it is you and that you are smiling because you are observing yourself in the mirror, but when you are not in front of a mirror, who assures you that your smile causes the friendly effect that it should produce? Okay, now you can spread your hands as if to give something to your reflection in the mirror, I said. And she without question, she did. And I asked him: What face are you making now? She replied that it was one of satisfaction. To which I answered again: Are you sure that you always have that same face in front of the people around you? And who assures you that you manage to convey the feeling of well-being with your smile when you are blessing others? No one answered myself. Well, in the same way, and even if we don't want to, the only solution for our lives is to see God in each of the people around us. In the same way, the only guarantee we have that we are doing the right thing to bless others, and this will be through the power of the Holy Spirit acting in us and for us. In this way, we will know that we are allowing him to work in us to produce in others the necessary changes in each of their lives.

All Christians are called to be holy and to manifest the power of God through his Holy Spirit. But just like the sister that I had to teach him, we are the ones who limit the power of God and we do not stop, nor can we see it in ourselves, nor do we see it in others. One of the obstacles that we find here is with the concept that we have about holiness. For some it is a goal to discharge that is simply impossible to meet. Therefore, they abandon the Path because they are not able to continue in that supposed holiness. For others it is supposedly a goal already achieved that they want all human beings to follow. But as far as I can understand, both concepts are wrong. Holiness can only be had by God. Therefore, we can only live holiness when God lives it for us. Another matter is being set apart for him.

But our faith can characterize us. Surely, on the subject of holiness, which we have already lost a long time ago; I the first will leave much to be desired in the others. But by our faith, by means of which if we approach to live in such a way that God is the one who sanctifies us and we will become holy. Our faith must be such that it is an example for all those who are seeking God. They may not know us for our holiness, but nothing stops us from being recognised for our faith and love for God and the extension of the Kingdom of Christ.

¿Recogeremos limones de un manzano?

 

 

 

                                             HOY  somos el rostro de Dios en medio de esta sociedad. Un día en la congregación se me acercó una mujer con un reclamo y era este: “yo nunca he visto a Dios”. En ese preciso momento y guiado por el Espíritu de Cristo, conduje a esta chica hasta el baño. Allí con muchísimo respeto y cuidado, le coloque al frente del espejo. Comencé con una simple pregunta: ¿ahora puedes ver a Dios? Lógicamente me dijo que no, que quien estaba viendo nunca se acercaría al concepto que tenemos de Dios. Ok, le respondí. Podrías sonrier y observarte nuevamente, le replique. Ella lo hizo. Ahora sabes que eres tu y que estás sonriendo porque te estás observando en el espejo, pero cuando no estás frente a un espejo, ¿Quién te asegura que tu sonrisa causa el efecto amistoso que debería producir? De acuerdo, ahora puedes extender tus manos como para darle algo a tu reflejo en el espejo, le dije. Y ella sin cuestionarlo, lo hizo. Y le pregunte: ¿Qué cara estás poniendo ahora? Ella respondió que era de satisfacción. A lo que conteste nuevamente: ¿Tú estás segura que siempre tienes esa misma cara delante de las personas que te rodean? Y ¿quién te asegura que logras transmitir la sensación de bienestar con tu sonrisa cuando estás bendiciendo a otros? Nadie respondí yo mismo. Pues, de la misma manera, y aunque no queramos, la única solución para nuestras vidas es ver a Dios en cada una de las personas que nos rodean. De la misma manera, la única garantía que tenemos de estar haciendo lo correcto para bendecir a los demás, y esto será a través del poder el Espíritu Santo actuando en nosotros y por nosotros. De esta manera, sabremos que estamos permitiendo que él trabaje en nosotros para producir en los demás los cambios necesarios en cada una de sus vidas.   

 

“A TODOS LOS QUE ESTÁIS EN ROMA, AMADOS DE DIOS, LLAMADOS A SER SANTOS: GRACIA Y PAZ A VOSOTROS, DE DIOS NUESTRO PADRE Y DEL SEÑOR JESUCRISTO.”

Todos los cristianos estamos llamados a ser santos y a manifestar el poder de Dios por medio de Su Espíritu Santo. Pero igual que la hermana que me tocó enseñarle, somos nosotros quienes limitamos el poder de Dios y no dejamos, ni podemos verlo en nosotros, ni lo vemos en los demás. Uno de los tropiezos que aquí nos encontramos es con el concepto que tengamos acerca de la santidad. Para algunos es una meta al alta que simplemente es imposible de cumplirla. Por lo tanto, abandonan el Camino porque no son capaz de continuar en esa supuesta santidad. Para otros supuestamente es una meta ya alcanzada que pretenden que todos los seres humanos les sigan. Pero según puedo comprender, ambos concepto están equivocados. La santidad solo lo puede tener Dios. Por lo tanto, solo podemos vivir la santidad, cuando Dios la vive por nosotros. Otro asunto es estar apartado para él.  

 

“PRIMERAMENTE DOY GRACIAS A MI DIOS MEDIANTE JESUCRISTO CON RESPECTO A TODOS VOSOTROS, DE QUE VUESTRA FE SE DIVULGA POR TODO EL MUNDO.”

Pero, nuestra fe sí que nos puede caracterizar. Seguramente, en el tema de la santidad, la cual ya la hemos perdido hace mucho tiempo; yo el primero dejará mucho que desear en los demás. Pero por nuestra fe, por medio de la cual si nos acercamos a vivir de tal manera que Dios es quien nos santifica y llegaremos a ser santos. Nuestra fe

ha de ser tal, que sea de ejemplo para todos aquellos que están buscando a Dios. Quizás no nos conozcan por nuestra santidad, pero nada nos detiene para que nos reconozcan por nuestra fe y amor por Dios y la extensión del Reino de Cristo.

And walk in love, as Christ also loved us, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a fragrant odour.

God's callings never come alone. God will never send us to war without first having trained us, without giving us the necessary provision and much less, without an adequate strategy for each moment. The Pastor Antonio Selma taught me: for what we are doing we are already trained, for what is to come, God himself will train us. God has given us a minimum, his love and the function of doing, that is: love and the apostolate. We must honour that God-given calling and gifts.

POR AMOR DE SU NOMBRE

Si no anteponemos el amor a las cosas que hacemos, seremos como simples metales.

CADA uno de nosotros somos las Biblias o los Nuevos Testamentos que leerán cada uno de los ateos. Por más que deseemos negarlo, estamos siendo observados por todos aquellos que no creen en Dios, es decir, todos nosotros tenemos un llamamiento específico y debemos honrar ese llamado y desde luego,  debemos honrar a aquel que nos llamó. Jesucristo es la imagen de sacerdote y ser humano a seguir o imitar. Del mismo modo, cuando Saulo de Tarso se encontró con el Camino, imitó al Maestro. Por eso, en otra carta él mismo nos recomendará: Sed, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados. Y andad en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios en olor fragante.

“Y POR QUIEN RECIBIMOS LA GRACIA Y EL APOSTOLADO, PARA LA OBEDIENCIA A LA FE EN TODAS LAS NACIONES POR AMOR DE SU NOMBRE;”

Los llamamientos de Dios nunca vienen solos. Dios nunca nos mandará a la guerra sin antes habernos capacitado, sin darnos la provisión necesaria y muchísimo menos, sin una estrategia adecuada para cada momento. El Pastor Antonio Selma me enseñó: para lo que estamos haciendo ya estamos capacitados, para lo que vendrá, Dios mismo nos entrenará. Dios nos ha dado mínimo, su amor y la función de hacer, es decir: el amor y el apostolado. Debemos honrar ese llamado y dones otorgados por Dios.

Sin temor alguno puedo certificar: todos los cristianos tenemos un llamamiento al ministerio. Pero, también digo que esto no significa que todos somos pastores, ni evangelistas, ni maestros, ni misioneros, ni profetas. Como a su vez, todos somos maestros, pastores, profetas, misioneros y evangelistas. ¿A qué estamos esperando para salir a evangelizar? ¿Cuántas pruebas más necesitamos? ¿Vamos a seguir haciendo oídos sordos a los mandatos divinos?
