HAVE we ever found ourselves in a difficult situation for an innocent comment we might have made? In Latin America there was a television character called Chavo del Ocho. Said character was always surprised by his teacher when everyone was silent and he ended with the phrase: "the longaniza professor", making a mockery of his height, even knowing that his name was Professor Jirafales. El Chavo always apologised with a “se me chispotio” (he has no translation in English). But these types of experiences eventually come out of television and we live them in the present body. Perhaps, who has not made an unfounded criticism of which later it is necessary to regret? Mark, the writer of the Gospel that we are studying in the last nine months, was not an easy person, he abandoned the Master, he left Paul lying in the middle of an evangelistic campaign. But definitely, everything he did before God, he left us his own imprint.
“BUT A CERTAIN YOUNG MAN WAS FOLLOWING HIM, COVERED HIS BODY WITH A SHEET; AND THEY TAKEN HIM;”
Mark 14. 51
In this biblical passage, the saying fits well: "like a fly in milk", that is, nothing to see. We are seeing the picture of Christ's surrender, when from one moment to the next, the author tells us about a boy in a blanket who is left naked. Therefore, to try to understand what they are telling us here, we would have to investigate a little more in the oriental customs. I understood this when I was invited to a festival of Ethiopian Christians here in Leeds. The men had bought some very elegant blankets and they were dressed only with them. Because they were at this celebration and they did it once a year. Perhaps this young man was really prepared for such a solemn act as the Master's farewell to him?

Theologians of great stature, make the mention that this was the mark of Mark or the signature of the author of the Gospel of Mark. Let us bear in mind that this situation is only collected by him. The other synoptic gospels say nothing, much less does the Gospel of John. And us, what kind of trail are we leaving? Will future generations be able to speak of our genius? Why will they recognised us two thousand years from now? Is there a specific writing that helps thousands of souls to reach the feet of Christ in the same way that the Gospel of Mark is causing it despite walking naked through life during these millennia that his letter has existed?
