WE ARE GRAFTED

So important is the trunk, the roots as the branches.

I  grew up in the city, therefore, I knew little about the countryside until I decided to take an interest in it. Like almost all the boys, he saw that the fruit came from the market and that the meat and vegetables simply came from the supermarket. When we were about 8 years old, at school, we let the lentil seed germinate and we saw how that seed became an important part in the regeneration of new pods that would give more lentils. When I was living in Spain, I learned that good wines are born from rotten vines that have been grafted with selected branches that have produced very good wines in previous years. As Christians, we must consider that we are branches grafted onto the tree of faith in God who first gave this faith to Jewish Israelites like Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, so that we might enjoy salvation in Jesus Christ.

“FOR IF SOME OF THE BRANCHES WERE BROKEN OFF, AND YOU, BEING A WILD OLIVE TREE, HAVE BEEN GRAFTED IN THEIR PLACE, AND HAVE BEEN MADE PARTAKER OF THE ROOT AND OF THE RICH SAP OF THE OLIVE TREE, DO NOT BOAST AGAINST THE BRANCHES; AND IF YOU BOAST, KNOW THAT YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE ROOT, BUT THE ROOT YOU."

Romans 11. 17-18

The Gospel of Christ is to bring the Good News of Salvation of Christ for all humanity. We have no right to consider that salvation belongs to us or is exclusive to a group of people. On that same path, we must not allow any religion, dogma or belief other than the Gospel of Christ to dictate or tell us that they have salvation. By grace we were saved, by grace let us preach the Gospel of Christ.

“FOR THE BRANCHES, YOU WILL SAY, WERE BREAK OFF SO THAT I MIGHT BE GRAFTED IN.”

Romans 11. 19

The growing need for a healthy spiritual life is born from the very heart of God. The problem arises because humanity is confused and blind, and other blind and confused people are leading it. So much post-modernist philosophy and ideology distances us from the very essence of Christ's life, because the ego of the human being is above all else according to these post-modernist philosophies. However, what Jesus Christ said: Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any of you wants to be my follower, he has to abandon his own way of life, take up his cross and follow me. The challenge is here: how will we teach the Gospel of Christ to a society that is enchanted with new philosophies or ideologies? That same approach was what the early church experienced; this church has survived because it listened and obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit. Let us assume this as a good life challenge and extend the kingdom of Christ, knowing that we are grafted into the tree of faith in God which is guided by the wisdom of the Spirit of Christ, acting in our lives.

I HAVE ALSO SINNED

God uses me despite my imperfections.

I DO NOT  know the first human being who is without sin. In any case, God can use whoever he wants to make an instrument of blessings for the rest of humanity. A few years ago, I remember having a conversation with my father-in-law, in which he told me about the need to be totally pure or holy to be a representative of God, which is totally true. The problem arises when people pretend that human beings who are priests of God, walk a foot above the ground and that our religious holiness is such that through our pores, we perspire angelic fragrances instead of smelly sweat. Personally, I really like to speculate, but considering that we priests should be like that definitely borders on stupidity.

"AND IF HIS TRANSGRESSION FROM HIM IS THE WEALTH OF THE WORLD, AND HIS DEFECTION FROM HIM THE WEALTH OF THE GENTILES, HOW MUCH MORE IS HIS FULL RESTORATION?"

Romans 11. 12

The Gospel of Christ reaches our hearts and will make changes in our lives. On many occasions, these changes will be transcendental and on others, it will take us years to achieve a definitive change. The Jewish people of Israel served as an example for the Church, with this it is intended that the same errors that we have recorded in the OT are not repeated. However, this does not mean that they are better or worse than us. The saying goes: “ignoring the past will make us repeat the same thing in the future”. For this reason, we have the OT as a biblical testimony of what we have and do not have to do.

"BECAUSE I SPEAK TO YOU, GENTILES. BECAUSE I AM AN APOSTLE TO THE GENTILES, I HONOR MY MINISTRY, IN CASE I MAY IN SOME WAY MAKE THOSE OF MY BLOOD JEALOUS, AND MAKE SOME OF THEM SAVED.”

Romans 11. 13-14

Jesus Christ said: Let one of you who is without sin cast the first stone… Woman, where are you? Does no one condemn you anymore? Nobody, sir. Nor do I condemn you. Now leave and do not sin again. If Jesus of Nazareth did not condemn this woman, why should we condemn others knowing that we also have sins? Why should we condemn nations, cultures, ethnic groups and races, knowing that in the recent past, we were also as they are today? Let us not condemn anyone, let us extend the kingdom of Christ, let us demonstrate the love of God for all humanity.

LET US CONTINUE WITH THE WORK

We live in a continuous relay race, are we ready?

WHEN he was a child, he attended the 6 am mass daily. My parents raised me in the Catholic custom. I learned what it is to have faith, and that one of the ways to teach this faith is by performing works such as religiously attending all scheduled church events, visiting the dead, sick and needy, giving to the beggar and help all my neighbours as a way to ensure my salvation and thus please God and calm his anger against me. When I decided to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I understood that these works are good and necessary for my testimonial life, but in no case are these works necessary for my Salvation. I also understood that God is not an angry being who is looking for me to sin to unload his anger for me, rather the opposite, God loves all humanity so much that he decided to give his own Son to rescue, save and redeem all Humans.

“AND IF BY GRACE, IT IS NO LONGER BY WORKS; OTHERWISE GRACE IS NO LONGER GRACE. AND IF BY WORKS, IT IS NO LONGER GRACE; OTHERWISE THE WORK IS NO LONGER WORK.”

Romans 11.6

When the Gospel of Christ becomes a reality in our lives, it empowers us to go preach the Good News of Salvation. This work is not exclusive to a few, in any case, it is an imperative action given by Jesus Christ to all Christians: Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world. Amen. Therefore, going to teach the Gospel of Christ and not doing work is totally null, because the latter is the direct consequence of the action of the Holy Spirit in each one of us.

"SO? WHAT ISRAEL WAS LOOKING FOR, IT HAS NOT REACHED; BUT THE CHOSEN HAVE REACHED IT, AND THE OTHERS WERE HARDENED; AS IT IS WRITTEN: GOD GAVE THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR, EYES THAT DO NOT SEE AND EARS THAT DO NOT HEAR, UNTIL THIS DAY.”

Romans 11. 7-8

We have no more excuses, time is short and soon the glorious return of Christ will manifest. We must do the work of the extension of the Kingdom of Christ. We have to preach in season and out of season. Let us preach God as if there were no tomorrow, because perhaps it is so…

THE HOPE

God purposed to save all mankind.

IT is inevitable to see the sins of the heroes of the faith: Noah, due to his drunkenness, lost his composure and one of his children. Desperate for the rumours of the people, Moses disobeyed God and exterminated an entire people, perhaps committing acts against humanity. King David, to whom we owe most of the Psalms, was polygamous, prevaricated and murdered. Samson disobeyed the laws of the Nazarenes, he went to the sexual services of women who sold them. Rahab, practiced prostitution, with everything and that, she is one of the grandmothers of Jesus Christ. Esther hesitated and at first she refused to save God's people. Jeremiah repented every day of being used by God, which is why he is called the weeping prophet. Saulo de Tarso, murdered and persecuted the Igleisa de Cristo. With all this and this short list of imperfect people, each one of us would not have the hope of knowing that God loves us and we would not see the promise of Jesus Christ fulfilled for the salvation of humanity.

“I SAY, THEN, HAS GOD REJECTED HIS PEOPLE FROM HIM? IN NO WAY. BECAUSE I ALSO AM AN ISRAELITE, OF THE DESCENDANTS OF ABRAHAM, OF THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN.”

Romans 11.1

When God sets a goal, there is nothing to stop him. If God purposed to do a task with any of us, God will do it. Obviously, the only thing that God will not do is interfere with our denial. But if, on our part is the desire and doing, God will work in our favor so that everything is carried out and done according to his will.

“GOD HAS NOT DISCARDED HIS PEOPLE FROM HIM, WHOM HE KNEW FROM BEFORE. OR DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THE SCRIPTURE SAYS ABOUT ELIJAH, HOW HE CALLS ON GOD AGAINST ISRAEL, SAYING: LORD, THEY HAVE KILLED YOUR PROPHETS, AND THEY HAVE TAKEN DOWN YOUR ALTARS; AND ONLY I HAVE LEFT, AND THEY TRY TO KILL ME?"

Romans 11. 2-3

We have hope, God will never rule us out. God will continue to use imperfect people like you and me. Let us remember what his own word says: Instead, God chose what the world considers ridiculous to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that have no power to shame the mighty. So let us have no fear. Let us continue to spread the kingdom of Christ everywhere we are.

IT IS UNAVOIDABLE

It will be done, because it is the firm will of God.

IN all the profiles of my social networks it says that I am a writer, a pastor, an evangelist, a useless servant apprentice. There are countless devotionals where I assure and affirm about my bad mood and my strong character. In some writing I have affirmed about how I have gone overboard with Ani in the way of answering her. I have had to admit that I lacked tact in treating my children, however, I have never been an absent father. Also, I am sure I have written: “I do not understand why God uses me to extend his kingdom”. Anyway, one thing I can be sure of is that, if I do not do it, God will use another imperfect glass to bring water to the thirsty. God will put another wounded soul to heal another wounded soul. God will use the stones to extend the Kingdom of Christ and his Justice if I decide to remain silent. Because the Evangelisation of humanity is inevitable.

“BUT I SAY: HAVE YOU NOT HEARD? BUT, THROUGH ALL THE EARTH THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT, AND THEIR WORDS OF HER TO THE END OF THE EARTH.”

Romans 10.18

We can already get the excuse from God that we please, however, if God has given us an order or an instruction, in due time it will be carried out. But, if we voluntarily refuse to obey that instruction, God will use whoever is really willing to do so. When we receive the true Gospel of Christ, the itch and desire to extend his Kingdom and prove that he really is alive will consume us and cause us to move in favor of the Kingdom of God.

“I ALSO SAY: HAS NOT ISRAEL KNOWN THIS? FIRST MOSES SAYS: I WILL PROVOKE YOU TO JEALOUSY WITH A PEOPLE THAT IS NOT A PEOPLE; WITH A FOOLISH PEOPLE I WILL PROVOKE YOU TO WRATH.”

Romans 10.19

The Jewish people of Israel continue to be the people of God. So to speak, they are in a time of recess. Now, those of us who follow Jesus Christ, all of us who have confessed Jesus of Nazareth as our Saviour, Redeemer and King, are the people of God. And trying to reveal this last verse, God can use us to cause a jealousy over that Jewish people of Israel towards the love of the Heavenly Father. Let us take advantage of every act, every word, every work we do to extend the Kingdom of Christ, because simply doing it is unavoidable.

WE DON'T WORRY

What we sow, we will reap because God will make it possible.

YESTERDAY I saw a program on Disney Chanel with the famous Spanish chef, José Andrés. In said documentary, they show the NGO directed by him: “WE FOOD WORD”. This man has a company with about 30 restaurants, but most of his time is spent feeding the most needy people, whether due to a natural disaster or as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thousands of meals he selflessly distributes and he never lacks divine provision, because everything he does, he does selflessly helping his neighbours, in addition, he supplies the basic food needs for the indirect authors of the disasters, that is, all those of civil and military organisations that are assisting natural misfortunes. José Andrés, understood that the gift that God gave him, has to be used much more than to generate money, he wears himself out without knowing it and perhaps, without giving glory to God, in the extension of the Kingdom of Christ. He does it, and the faithful children of God who are experiencing misfortune, see the hand of God and the provision of the Almighty despite what they have had to live through, through a selfless Spaniard who provides love, companionship and food in the most difficult moments of their lives.

“BUT NOT ALL OBEYED THE GOSPEL; BECAUSE ISAIAH SAYS: LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR ANNOUNCEMENT?

Romans 10.16

When the Gospel of Christ echoes in our hearts (mentality), we understand that we must perform acts that help to extend the Kingdom of Christ. But, we should be aware that many people are not ready to leave their way of thinking and accept the invitation of God the Father to approach his Presence and remain in a constant intimate relationship with him.

“SO FAITH IS BY HEARING, AND HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD.”

Romans 10.17

Therefore, it is our obligation to do everything in our power to extend the Kingdom of Christ, we will do it through Evangelisation or demonstration of God's love. Let us not worry, rather, let us take care of doing it, because as the Apostle wrote: I sowed, Apollos watered, but God has given the growth. So he counts neither the one who sows nor the one who waters, but only God, who is the one who makes it grow. He who sows and he who waters are on the same level, although each will be rewarded according to his own work.

PEACE: WHERE WAS IT LOST

Peace is like the carrot in the horse's snout.

SINCE the dawn of humanity, Peace has been lost. This happened because the human being decided to make his own decisions without having the guidance, support and acted without the Presence of God. In the Garden of Eden, that lack of connection with God made Adam blame Eve and she in turn said that in the end, God was to blame for creating the serpent that deceived him. As a result of this lack of Peace, we find in Genesis the first documented murder in the Bible. Cain's fatal decision to attack his brother Abel brought serious consequences to humanity; These sequels were so extreme that we are still living them:

“AND CAIN SAID TO HIS BROTHER ABEL: LET US GO OUT TO THE FIELD. AND IT CAME TO PASS, WHEN THEY WERE IN THE FIELD, CAIN ROSE UP AGAINST HIS BROTHER ABEL, AND KILLED HIM. AND THE LORD SAID TO CAIN: WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER ABEL? AND HE ANSWERED: I DON'T KNOW. AM I PERHAPS MY BROTHER'S GUARD? AND HE SAID TO HIM: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? THE VOICE OF YOUR BROTHER'S BLOOD CRIES TO ME FROM THE EARTH. NOW, THEREFORE, YOU ARE CURSED FROM THE EARTH, WHO OPENED ITS MOUTH TO RECEIVE FROM YOUR HAND THE BLOOD OF YOUR BROTHER. WHEN YOU TILL THE GROUND, HE SHALL NOT GIVE YOU HIS STRENGTH AGAIN FROM HIM; YOU WILL BE A WANDERER AND A FOREIGNER ON EARTH.”

Genesis 4.8-12

One of the first consequences was the need to claim divine justice and we can be sure that, when God imparts justice, he is very severe. The second consequence that we find is the enmity that we maintain with the same creation. For this reason, today we can see climate change as a clear consequence of the lack of Peace in human beings and all of humanity itself. That lack of Peace that was lost in Genesis, we can only recover when we allow the Gospel of Christ to act in our minds and hearts. In this way, we will become those true Christians that we should be.

 

“I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS SO THAT YOU MAY FIND PEACE IN ME. IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL FACE AFFLICTIONS, BUT CHEER UP! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD."

John 16.33

Only in Jesus Christ will we find the Peace that we all need. No matter how many mantras are repeated, endless prayers and whatever else we try to do to find Peace, it will never be found, as these will be totally useless actions. The only action that is worth and is backed by God is to accept the Peace that Jesus Christ gave us. Jesus of Nazareth, was aware of all the afflictions and attacks that as human beings because one day we lost Peace. For this, he gave us the Peace that surpasses all understanding, through the Holy Spirit of him.
