ACCORDING TO YOUR WORKS

 

Only two options: life or death and that is our decision.

 

 

                        OCCASIONALLY I am terrified of what I read in the scriptures. Well, as I reflect on how terrible it is to fall for God's judgment and the consequences of it, it makes me very nervous and makes my whole body intermingle at the very concept of having to drink God's wrath. Just at that moment I remember that, I have accepted the justification of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary and that he, before his sacrifice, in the Garden of Olives, he took the cup of the Wrath of God: saying: Father, if it is your will, take this cup away from me; but not my will, but yours. Later, in the Book of Revelation we will see that that single cup was actually much more than one: I heard a voice from the temple shouting to the seven angels: "Go and pour out the seven bowls of fury on the earth! of God!".

"BUT BY YOUR HARDNESS AND BY YOUR UNREPENTANT HEART, YOU TREASURE YOURSELF WRATH FOR THE DAY OF WRATH AND THE REVELATION OF THE JUST JUDGMENT OF GOD,"

We are the accumulation of our decisions. In other words, if all our lives we have sown violence, at some point we will reap that sown violence. In the opposite case, if what we have sown is love, joy, peace, tranquillity, let yus not worry, at the right and opportune moment, we are going to reap each of the fruits of those seeds that we have sown. Hence, I am terrified of reading biblical passages that remind me of how sinful I am, of how much I have disappointed God and the worst thing is that I know that in my human condition, looking for the Perfect One, I am going to fall, I am going to make mistakes many times.

"WHO SHALL PAY EACH ONE ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS BY HIM."

 

Romans 2. 6

 

 

 

One of the problems of humanity is that we believe we are gods and that we direct our lives to our liking, desire and whim regardless of whether we obey God or not. The other problem is that we play with God, because as the prophet declared: This people honours me with their lips; but his heart is far from me. We say and our actions are totally contrary to what we have just declared. Another example that would fit perfectly is, we do not take seriously what we sow and we intend to reap love when what we have invested in is hatred, for example. Repent is the only solution and God will pay us according to our works.

Solo dos opciones: vida o muerte y esa es nuestra decisión.

 

 

 

 

 

                                DE vez en cuando me aterro de lo que leo en las Escrituras. Pues, al reflexionar acerca de lo terrible que es caer en el juicio de Dios y las consecuencias de ello, me pone muy nervioso y hace que todo mi cuerpo se entremezcla por el mero concepto de tener que beber la ira de Dios. Justo en ese momento recuerdo que, he aceptado la justificación de Jesucristo en la Cruz del Calvario y que él, antes de su sacrificio, en el Huerto de Olivos, él se tomó la copa de la Ira de Dios: diciendo: Padre, si es tu voluntad, aparta de mí esta copa; pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya. Mas adelante, en el Libro de Apocalipsis veremos que esa única copa, en realidad fueron mucho más que una: Oí una voz que desde el templo decía a gritos a los siete ángeles: «¡Vayan y derramen sobre la tierra las siete copas del furor de Dios!».

 

“PERO POR TU DUREZA Y POR TU CORAZÓN NO ARREPENTIDO, ATESORAS PARA TI MISMO IRA PARA EL DÍA DE LA IRA Y DE LA REVELACIÓN DEL JUSTO JUICIO DE DIOS,”

Somos el cúmulo de nuestras decisiones. Es decir, si toda la vida hemos sembrado violencia, en algún momento cosecharemos esa violencia sembrada. En el caso contrario, si lo que hemos sembrado es amor, gozo, paz, tranquilidad, no nos preocupemos, en el momento justo y oportuno, vamos a recoger cada uno de los frutos de esas semillas que hemos sembrado. De allí que me aterre leer pasajes bíblicos que me recuerdan lo pecador que soy, de cuanto he defraudado a Dios y lo peor, es que se qué en mi condición humana, buscado al Perfecto, voy a caer, voy a equivocarme muchas veces.

 

“EL CUAL PAGARÁ A CADA UNO CONFORME A SUS OBRAS.”

Romanos 2. 6 RV60

 

Uno de los problemas de la humanidad es que nos creemos dioses y que ponemos a dirigir nuestras vidas a nuestro gusto, deseo y capricho sin importar si obedecemos a Dios o no. El otro problema es que jugamos con Dios, porque como declaró el profeta: Este pueblo de labios me honra; mas su corazón está lejos de mí. Decimos y nuestros actos son totalmente contrarios a lo que acabamos de declarar. Otro ejemplo que entraría perfectamente es, no nos tomamos en serio lo que sembramos y pretendemos cosechar amor cuando en lo que hemos invertido es el odio, por ejemplo. Arrepentírtenos es la única solución y Dios nos pagará conforme a nuestras obras.

Let's not look for fresh water in the middle of the salty sea.

A good question to ask ourselves is, why do we dislike following the example of Jesus Christ so much? And we say that he was God and it was easy for him to be so good and because of that, he did not fail. And this answer is fine. But why don't we follow the examples of Paul, Peter. Stephen and the other apostles who were human beings, how are we? And we have to come to the conclusion that the answer we give will always be a mere excuse for not following a profitable lifestyle for us. What we should understand and understand today is that, if we are not willing to follow those examples that we have from the early Church, we are dishonouring the legacy that God gave us.

"DO YOU THINK THEN THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ESCAPE THE JUDGMENT OF GOD, YOU WHO JUDGE OTHERS AND YET DO THE SAME AS THEM?"

Romans 2. 3

To be right with human beings is to be right with God. We cannot escape that responsibility. We are not only responsible with our words but, we are also responsible with our actions. The fact of judging and criticising someone or something does not make us better than them. On the contrary, we lower ourselves because we pretend to be gods with the capacity of judgment.

“DO NOT YOU SEE THAT YOU DESPISE THE RICHES OF GOD'S GOODNESS, HIS TOLERANCE AND HIS PATIENCE, BY NOT RECOGNISING THAT HIS GOODNESS WANTS TO LEAD YOU TO REPENTANCE?"

Romans 2. 4 

Making God a god in our image, desire and whim is an act of idolatry. God is God and he will never be mocked. We cannot make our own image of God. We should not try to understand the Mind of God as we think it should be. We must honor the divine teachings and examples that God left us through the Scriptures.

EJEMPLO DIVINO

No busquemos agua dulce en medio de la mar salada.

            UNA buena pregunta que podemos hacernos es, ¿por qué nos disgusta tanto seguir el ejemplo de Jesucristo? Y decimos que él era Dios y le quedaba fácil ser tan bueno y por ello, no fallaba. Y esta respuesta está bien. Pero ¿por qué no seguimos los ejemplos de Pablo, Pedro. Esteban y los otros apóstoles que eran seres humanos cómo lo somos nosotros? Y tenemos que llegar a la conclusión que la respuesta que demos siempre será una mera excusa para no seguir un estilo de vida provechoso para nosotros. Lo que deberíamos de entender y comprender hoy es que, si no estamos dispuestos a seguir esos ejemplos que tenemos desde la Iglesia primitiva, estamos deshonrando el legado que Dios nos dio.

“¿Piensas entonces que vas a escapar del juicio de Dios, tú que juzgas a otros y sin embargo haces lo mismo que ellos?”

Romanos  2. 3 RV60

Estar a cuentas con los seres humanos es estar a cuentas con Dios. No podemos escapar a esa responsabilidad. No solo somos responsables con nuestras palabras sino, también lo somos con nuestras acciones. El hecho de juzgar y criticar a alguien o algo, no nos hace mejor que ellos. Antes todo lo contrario, nos rebajamos porque pretendemos ser dioses con capacidad de juicio.

“¿No ves que desprecias las riquezas de la bondad de Dios, de su tolerancia y de su paciencia, al no reconocer que su bondad quiere llevarte al arrepentimiento?”

Romanos 2. 4 RV60

Hacer de  Dios, un dios a nuestra imagen, deseo y capricho es un acto de idolatría. Dios es Dios y él nunca será burlado. No podemos hacernos nuestra propia imagen de  Dios. No debemos tratar de entender la Mente de  Dios como nosotros consideramos que debería ser. Debemos honrar las enseñanzas y ejemplos divinos que Dios nos dejó por medio de las Escrituras.

It is better to fall into the hands of God than in the comments of individuals.

 

 

                                        WHEN we are pretending to write a letter recounting our experiences with God, we can fall short with everything we should say. Or, on the contrary, we can overdo it. I am almost certain that the Apostle Paul when he was writing the Letter to the Romans, never considered the tremendous scope that his writings would have. One of the factors that we must bear in mind when giving our confession of faith is to make sure that we are not talking about our own righteousness. Of course, we cannot consider that divine justice has anything to do with human justice. It does not even come close to what we consider to be just, because we remember other apostolic words that affirm: who, being in the form of God, did not consider being equal to God as something to cling to, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, made like men; and being in the condition of man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, and death on the cross. And he did it for each of us by paying the fair price for our mistakes and mistakes. So where is righteousness toward Christ?

 

“FOR WHICH YOU ARE UNEXCUSABLE, OH HUMAN, WHOEVER YOU ARE TO JUDGE; FOR IN WHAT YOU JUDGE ANOTHER, YOU CONDEMN YOURSELF; BECAUSE YOU WHO JUDGE DO THE SAME."

I really like to do a little exercise when I pretend to judge someone and that is to point my finger at them. So, I turn to see my whole hand and I have three fingers pointing at me. In this way, I easily withdraw from that accusation, even if it is substantiated. Another factor that makes me think is: How do I know that this person is a liar? And the answer is simple, because I am also a liar and I know how to lie. But when we are innocent of actions that are reprehensible, we do not have time to think this is or is not a reason to judge any human being.

 

"BUT WE KNOW THAT THE JUDGMENT OF GOD AGAINST THOSE WHO PRACTICE SUCH THINGS IS ACCORDINGLY TRUTH."

 

Romans 2. 2

 

The worst thing is that, if we dare to judge, we will be judged by God. We well know that it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of God, but to fall into the hands of human beings will be much worse. Let's not be too light to judge or be prejudiced. Let us surrender all our burdens to God and let him be the one to deliver us.
