I HAVE ALSO SINNED

God uses me despite my imperfections.

I DO NOT  know the first human being who is without sin. In any case, God can use whoever he wants to make an instrument of blessings for the rest of humanity. A few years ago, I remember having a conversation with my father-in-law, in which he told me about the need to be totally pure or holy to be a representative of God, which is totally true. The problem arises when people pretend that human beings who are priests of God, walk a foot above the ground and that our religious holiness is such that through our pores, we perspire angelic fragrances instead of smelly sweat. Personally, I really like to speculate, but considering that we priests should be like that definitely borders on stupidity.

"AND IF HIS TRANSGRESSION FROM HIM IS THE WEALTH OF THE WORLD, AND HIS DEFECTION FROM HIM THE WEALTH OF THE GENTILES, HOW MUCH MORE IS HIS FULL RESTORATION?"

Romans 11. 12

The Gospel of Christ reaches our hearts and will make changes in our lives. On many occasions, these changes will be transcendental and on others, it will take us years to achieve a definitive change. The Jewish people of Israel served as an example for the Church, with this it is intended that the same errors that we have recorded in the OT are not repeated. However, this does not mean that they are better or worse than us. The saying goes: “ignoring the past will make us repeat the same thing in the future”. For this reason, we have the OT as a biblical testimony of what we have and do not have to do.

"BECAUSE I SPEAK TO YOU, GENTILES. BECAUSE I AM AN APOSTLE TO THE GENTILES, I HONOR MY MINISTRY, IN CASE I MAY IN SOME WAY MAKE THOSE OF MY BLOOD JEALOUS, AND MAKE SOME OF THEM SAVED.”

Romans 11. 13-14

Jesus Christ said: Let one of you who is without sin cast the first stone… Woman, where are you? Does no one condemn you anymore? Nobody, sir. Nor do I condemn you. Now leave and do not sin again. If Jesus of Nazareth did not condemn this woman, why should we condemn others knowing that we also have sins? Why should we condemn nations, cultures, ethnic groups and races, knowing that in the recent past, we were also as they are today? Let us not condemn anyone, let us extend the kingdom of Christ, let us demonstrate the love of God for all humanity.

THE HOPE

God purposed to save all mankind.

IT is inevitable to see the sins of the heroes of the faith: Noah, due to his drunkenness, lost his composure and one of his children. Desperate for the rumours of the people, Moses disobeyed God and exterminated an entire people, perhaps committing acts against humanity. King David, to whom we owe most of the Psalms, was polygamous, prevaricated and murdered. Samson disobeyed the laws of the Nazarenes, he went to the sexual services of women who sold them. Rahab, practiced prostitution, with everything and that, she is one of the grandmothers of Jesus Christ. Esther hesitated and at first she refused to save God's people. Jeremiah repented every day of being used by God, which is why he is called the weeping prophet. Saulo de Tarso, murdered and persecuted the Igleisa de Cristo. With all this and this short list of imperfect people, each one of us would not have the hope of knowing that God loves us and we would not see the promise of Jesus Christ fulfilled for the salvation of humanity.

“I SAY, THEN, HAS GOD REJECTED HIS PEOPLE FROM HIM? IN NO WAY. BECAUSE I ALSO AM AN ISRAELITE, OF THE DESCENDANTS OF ABRAHAM, OF THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN.”

Romans 11.1

When God sets a goal, there is nothing to stop him. If God purposed to do a task with any of us, God will do it. Obviously, the only thing that God will not do is interfere with our denial. But if, on our part is the desire and doing, God will work in our favor so that everything is carried out and done according to his will.

“GOD HAS NOT DISCARDED HIS PEOPLE FROM HIM, WHOM HE KNEW FROM BEFORE. OR DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THE SCRIPTURE SAYS ABOUT ELIJAH, HOW HE CALLS ON GOD AGAINST ISRAEL, SAYING: LORD, THEY HAVE KILLED YOUR PROPHETS, AND THEY HAVE TAKEN DOWN YOUR ALTARS; AND ONLY I HAVE LEFT, AND THEY TRY TO KILL ME?"

Romans 11. 2-3

We have hope, God will never rule us out. God will continue to use imperfect people like you and me. Let us remember what his own word says: Instead, God chose what the world considers ridiculous to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that have no power to shame the mighty. So let us have no fear. Let us continue to spread the kingdom of Christ everywhere we are.

IT IS UNAVOIDABLE

It will be done, because it is the firm will of God.

IN all the profiles of my social networks it says that I am a writer, a pastor, an evangelist, a useless servant apprentice. There are countless devotionals where I assure and affirm about my bad mood and my strong character. In some writing I have affirmed about how I have gone overboard with Ani in the way of answering her. I have had to admit that I lacked tact in treating my children, however, I have never been an absent father. Also, I am sure I have written: “I do not understand why God uses me to extend his kingdom”. Anyway, one thing I can be sure of is that, if I do not do it, God will use another imperfect glass to bring water to the thirsty. God will put another wounded soul to heal another wounded soul. God will use the stones to extend the Kingdom of Christ and his Justice if I decide to remain silent. Because the Evangelisation of humanity is inevitable.

“BUT I SAY: HAVE YOU NOT HEARD? BUT, THROUGH ALL THE EARTH THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT, AND THEIR WORDS OF HER TO THE END OF THE EARTH.”

Romans 10.18

We can already get the excuse from God that we please, however, if God has given us an order or an instruction, in due time it will be carried out. But, if we voluntarily refuse to obey that instruction, God will use whoever is really willing to do so. When we receive the true Gospel of Christ, the itch and desire to extend his Kingdom and prove that he really is alive will consume us and cause us to move in favor of the Kingdom of God.

“I ALSO SAY: HAS NOT ISRAEL KNOWN THIS? FIRST MOSES SAYS: I WILL PROVOKE YOU TO JEALOUSY WITH A PEOPLE THAT IS NOT A PEOPLE; WITH A FOOLISH PEOPLE I WILL PROVOKE YOU TO WRATH.”

Romans 10.19

The Jewish people of Israel continue to be the people of God. So to speak, they are in a time of recess. Now, those of us who follow Jesus Christ, all of us who have confessed Jesus of Nazareth as our Saviour, Redeemer and King, are the people of God. And trying to reveal this last verse, God can use us to cause a jealousy over that Jewish people of Israel towards the love of the Heavenly Father. Let us take advantage of every act, every word, every work we do to extend the Kingdom of Christ, because simply doing it is unavoidable.

PEACE: WHAT IS MY POSITION

Although it will arrive, Peace must be demonstrated.

ON April 12, 2019, I wrote a devotional entitled: Why does God tell you his plans? which I encourage you to read following this link: https://www.agopla.com/2019/04/para-que-dios-te-cuenta-sus-secretos.html. in this devotional, I treat one of God's facets and is, to speak with his children all the plans he plans to execute. With Abraham, God told him that he would destroy Sodom and Gomorra. To the prophet Samuel, he told him when and what would be the kings that should anoint. To King David, he told him when he had to go to war and when he should wait. Jesus of Nazareth, who was also his son, told him all the plans and all the strategies he would follow to fulfil all the will of God. Now, we find the apocalyptic plans about humanity. Therefore, we must analyse two issues: what should we do with God's plans? And the second is: What should be our position in front of these plans?

“AND YOU WILL HEAR WARS AND RUMOURS OF WARS; LOOK THAT YOU DO NOT TURN TO, BECAUSE IT IS NECESSARY THAT ALL THIS HAPPEN; BUT IT IS NOT THE END YET. BECAUSE NATION WILL RISE AGAINST NATION, AND THE KINGDOM AGAINST THE KINGDOM; AND HE WILL BE PESTS, AND HAMBRE, AND EARTHQUAKES IN DIFFERENT PLACES.”

Matthew 24.6-7

We are currently living about 10 wars on our planet. I speak of armed conflicts such as those who are living in Syria, Palestine-Israel, and of course Russia-Ukraine. Then, in the face of these conflicts and as Christians we should not take sides, in any case, we must be impartial before them, but before God, we must be sure to be crying out for the implementation of the peace of God. God's plans are perfect and precise. Therefore, extending good salvation, the Gospel of Christ, will be the only way of that implementation of divine peace. I am a person who easily elucidates, and I invite you to follow me in this thought: what will God have to do in the conflict of Syria, will respond to the clamor of those who are in favor or those who are against the regime that governs said country? How should God respond to the faithful who cry because the missiles on one side or the other of the target? Is not it rather that God wants peace to reign in that country and that the Gospel of Christ even reaches Arab nations?

 

“THEN THE LORD TOLD ME: ALTHOUGH MOSES AND SAMUEL SHOWED UP BEFORE ME, MY HEART WOULD NOT BE WITH THIS TOWN; ENTER THEM FROM MY PRESENCE, AND LET THEM GO."

Jeremiah 15.1

"AND ALTHOUGH THESE THREE MEN, NOAH, DANIEL AND JOB, WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT COUNTRY, THEY, FOR HIS JUSTICE, WOULD ONLY SAVE HIMSELF THE LORD GOD.”

Ezekiel 14.14

There are God's plans in which we simply cannot intervene. But, whatever, cry out for peace, is the only and perfect position we must have. Moses, Samuel, Noah, Job and Daniel, men of faith and people who knew how finished. God, for listening to the clamor of these intercessors, forgave and implanted peace on many occasions according to the biblical stories. In the same way, each of us should take a single game: cry out in this case, for world peace. If we are going to pray to God, let it be for divine peace to reach each of the hearts of all those who are the protagonists of the current conflicts. If we are going to intervene through our prayers, not to make the projectiles in their target. Rather, that our prayer is so that the peace that surpasses all understanding that only the Holy Spirit gives, reaches the life of all human beings, through believing and accepting Jesus Christ how the Saviour and Redeemer of all humanity.

PEACE: A DIVINE GIFT

Peace is an almost unattainable global goal.

DURING this week, together with other ministries worldwide, we will be talking about Peace. All humanity day after day cries out for her; currently in many regions of the world, a war is being waged under the pretext of seeking Peace. To go looking for Peace, millions of people throughout the history of humanity have given their lives uselessly. But, the only way to find Peace and apply it to our lives, is by accepting Jesus of Nazareth as the Saviour and Redeemer of all humanity. Therefore, imperatively, the Master said:

“PEACE I LEAVE YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE YOU; I DO NOT GIVE IT TO YOU AS THE WORLD GIVES IT. NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID"

John 14.27

Analysing this verse, we find that in the first sentence, Jesus Christ categorically affirms that He has already left us Peace. So why do we live with so much discord and strife among ourselves? Jesus Christ, reaffirming said: that he has left us his Peace. But do we really understand what it means and implies to have the Peace of Christ in each one of us?

 

“BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, KINDNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE; AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW.”

Galatians 5.22-23

As Christians, we recognise these passages as the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. And we just read that the third fruit is Peace. In the first paragraph I stated that only by having Jesus Christ in our hearts, we will achieve Peace. Because the only way to obtain the fruits of the Holy Spirit is by accepting the eternal government of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must make it a reality that the Mind of Christ acts in us and leads us to the Peace that only God can give us as a divine gift.

THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

We can only accept that God is God.

I recently had a curious conversation with one of my friends about salvation. In this dialogue, he asked me to clarify if the Jews will be saved, since they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour, therefore, they go totally against the post testamentary declarations. I tried to explain to him that for them, the Jews, the chosen people of God, are in another covenant with him, therefore, they will have another option for salvation. We also talked about the Jewish Law, which is crucial for them and their salvation, which for Christians still applies but is not the core of our salvation. Finally, try to persuade him through the incomprehensible sovereignty of God to justify the salvation of the Jews, because I consider that this (the sovereignty of God) is a vital pillar in our faith and will help us to apply the love of God in the other human beings.

“FOR TO MOSES HE SAYS: I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHICH I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL SHARE ON WHICH I SHOULD HAVE MERCY.”

Romans 9.15

The Gospel of Christ is for all those who really want to know what God has for them, accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of Humanity. Therefore, it is very difficult for me to make prejudices about the people who will be saved or not. I know that my job is to present the Gospel of Christ, but not to force anyone, because the person in charge of convincing of this reality is the Holy Spirit of God himself.

“SO IT DOES NOT DEPEND ON THE ONE WHO WANTS, NOR ON THE ONE WHO RUNS, BUT ON GOD WHO HAS MERCY.”

Romans 9.16

So, we could summarise that the sovereignty of God, apart from meaning that he can do whatever he wants, because everything God does is for the good of the human being, it is about the application of the same mercy of God on all mankind. God is totally autonomous and independent, He does not need our approval, but He does expect us to act accordingly to his decision. Let us demonstrate the love of God and extend the kingdom of Christ in every moment of our lives.
