HATING IT

 

 

We cannot try to read literally all of the scripture...

 

 

 

                                        WITHIN the amounts of words translated from the scriptures, we will find many that will bring confusion to our western mentality. When reading the word of God, we will have to understand that some books were written in Hebrew, others in Greek and later translated into Spanish with its different nuances, something that does not usually happen in their translation into English. Perhaps the word hate is one of them. On the one hand, we usually have the concept that this word is contrary to love. If we seek help, when looking in the dictionary it will say that to hate is to dislike someone or something. However, when we see the etymology of the word we find: from the late Latin abhorrescĕre which is: to move away, to move away, to avoid. For this case, that we are talking about the supremacy and importance of loving God above all things, we will understand abhorrence as distancing ourselves from everything that may prevent us from giving him all the love that God asks for.

 

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the main commandment.”

 

Mark 12. 30

 

That "everything" is a word with which we must have a special treatment. As human beings, we avoid the absolutism of "everything" and enter into negotiations with what we should not possibly do. "All" in this case means 100% and not 99.99%. What we must reflect on is about that 0.1% that keeps us from giving everything to God, and yes that 0.1% is what we should hate. The other aspect to keep in mind is that if that tiny percentage is what prevents me from loving others, what are we going to do?

 

“And the second is similar: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”

 

Mark 12. 31

 

 

Hating everything that takes us away from God also means giving ourselves the opportunity to begin to love others. In today's society, which is saturated by the Covid restriction measures, it will increasingly need the manifestations of the children of God to demonstrate that we really love God 100% as much as we love our neighbours 100% as much as ourselves.

EL DIOS DE LOS VIVOS

 

Para qué buscas entre los muertos al que vivo está.

 

 

 

 

 

                                       LA resurrección de Jesús de Nazareth de la tumba es uno de los hechos más extraordinarios jamás ocurrido. Tal ha sido la expectativa de la resurrección de Cristo, que desde el mismo momento que ocurrió se ha tratado de desmentir y simplemente mitificarlo. Pero, desde los albores de la humanidad, Dios ha querido dejar claro el hecho extraordinario de la vida nueva, de la resurrección y de una vida más allá de la propia muerte. Por lo tanto, Dios cuando recupera una vida lo hará tanto en lo físico como en lo espiritual. Ese hecho de pensar en una vida más allá de la muerte ha de ser un factor determinante al desear cultivar nuestra relación íntima con Dios. Por otra parte, deberíamos igualmente considerar qué partes de nuestra vida hoy están muertas, presentárselas a Dios y permitir a su Espíritu de Poder y amor, nos ministre.   

 

“Pero respecto a que los muertos resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés cómo le habló Dios en la zarza, diciendo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob?”

 

Marcos 12. 26 RV60

 

Así como Dios está con seres vivos que paradójicamente murieron hace más de tres mil años, pensemos sobre nuestra vida matrimonial, ¿está realmente viva? Y si consideramos las finanzas, ¿demuestran la vitalidad y dinamismo de estar guiada por el Espíritu Santo? Reflexionemos acerca de nuestra relaciones interpersonales, la Luz de Cristo, ¿es tan brillante, viva y eficaz que alumbran en medio de la oscuridad de los demás?

 

“Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino Dios de vivos; así que vosotros mucho erráis.”

 

Marcos 12. 27 RV60

 

 

Sin embargo, no podemos pasar por alto el punto del carácter personal de cada uno de los vivos que habló Cristo. Abraham fue dinámico, integro y muy obediente. Isaac era flemático, sin mayores iniciativas, pero muy buen administrador de los recursos dados. Jacob, embaucador y sagas con un corazón dispuesto a servir a Dios. Tres caracteres diferentes pero con una gran disposición por reconocer la gloria a Dios por medio de ser obedientes. Y nosotros, ¿estamos dispuestos a seguir el ejemplo que nos dejaron estos héroes de la fe que están vivos y que obedecieron en todo a Dios?

We hit and hit the air knowing that our objective is another.

 

 

 

                        IGNORANCE of a law is not synonymous with exception. The fact that there is no prohibition sign does not mean that you have permission to do things. When it comes to exercising theology, Christians tend to be very liberal and make theological interpretations according to our heart and convenience. And paradoxically when a theologian (I mean that academic who has dedicated four years of his life to go to university and study Theology) tells us something, we immediately throw the necessary stones to try to silence what this human being is saying. Something that I have learned, both in my Christian and university life is, God can use even an atheist like Nietzsche, a Jesuit like Augustine or Bishop like Ratzinger to know his designs and be able to transmit them to those who are already free of religiosity to embrace an authentic faith, mature and ready to give rather than receive.

 

"Then answering Jesus, he said to them: Are you not erring because of this, because you ignore the Scriptures, and the power of God?"

Mark 12. 24

 

 

 

Today's church is full of activists and not representatives of the Kingdom of God. Christians try to demonstrate a God that we neither know nor have an intimate relationship with. We are absorbed by our own doctrinal and dogmatic discussions, neglecting the widow, the orphan and the homeless, understanding that this group of people are both physically and spiritually, because they are people who do not know God as Father, Provider and Sustained in their lives. God's or divine law is not governed by the same parameters that we apply as individuals. In the kingdom of heaven, two plus two is not always four.

 

"For when they rise from the dead, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage, but will be like the angels that are in heaven."

 

Mark 12. 25

 

 

 

 

 

What will happen in eternity? What will happen to our relatives and partners once we are in the presence of God? Perhaps in heaven will we have electric harps or will there be no more drums? Honestly, I don't know it and I don't even care. What I know today is that, if I do not preach the Gospel of Christ, every life that is called into the presence of God without an acceptance of the salvation of Christ, quite possibly this soul will be lost eternally. Therefore, in time and outside of it, I will always preach Christ and him risen.
