MUST BE RECOGNISED

There are many encounters with the cults but few with Christ.

WE ONLY consider that we have a good relationship with God. Many of these claims are born from the emotional expectations that each of us form. With this, I do not want to say that it is wrong, I just want to emphasise that many people who call themselves Christians, consider that they have a good relationship with Christ, simply because on Sundays they have mystical experiences with the Holy Spirit, or because they go where the prophet to give them a word of encouragement in quotes to throw away that week or because what the pastor preached was supposedly a Rhema word for their lives. But all this is just a sophistry of distraction, then, we could consider that there has been an encounter with the cult, an encounter with the pastor, an encounter even with a miracle. However, we could consider that they have never had a real encounter with Jesus Christ.

"THEN THE SOLDIERS TOOK HIM INSIDE THE ATRIUM, THIS IS, TO THE PRETORY, AND THEY CALLED THE WHOLE COMPANY.”

Mark 15. 16

The Roman soldiers had an encounter with Christ. What is more, they even dressed and crowned him with a false glory given by unscrupulous men. They acted according to the vileness of their hearts; Unfortunately, this same stamp is the one that we find today in many congregations, where we seek to have a supernatural encounter with the gifts of the pastor, instead of having an intimate and personal encounter with the giver of gifts and miracles.

"AND THEY CLOTHED HIM IN PURPLE, AND PUTTING A CROWN WOVEN OF THORNS, THEN BEGAN TO GREET HIM: HAVE YOU, KING OF THE JEWS!"

Mark 15. 17-18

What is more, the soldiers performed a false worship of praise and worship to Christ. But what use was it to them? And we all know the answer: absolutely not at all. So when do we give a lip service to God that he is going to serve us? Therefore, today we must recognise that we will have to learn to have an encounter with God in order to have that necessary change that we all need today.

ONE SUCCESS

The quality of life that we have will depend on the perspective that we give it.

I like to consider the Christian life as a soccer game. We are on a court where the home team, that is, each one of us is with the divine heavenly court and on the other court, is the adversary with the entire kingdom of darkness. Although the home team is captained by Jesus Christ, the role of center camper and marker is played by each of us; in turn, we play in a double goalkeeping position. So, the result of the match will depend on us and in quotes, well, we let the opponent score goals, how in turn, on each one of us it will depend if we score a scary win. Therefore, we have to know what is the play that we are going to have, because the victory or the most resounding defeat that we can get will depend on it.

“PILATO ANSWERING, SAID TO THEM AGAIN: WHAT, THEN, DO YOU WANT THAT YOU CALL THE KING OF THE JEWS TO DO? AND THEY RETURN TO GIVE VOICES: CRUCIFY HIM!”

Mark 15. 12-13

The spirit of stupor - or stupidity - was blinding those who a week before had cheered the Son of God; to the Root of David that they spread a mantle of palm leaves and shouted: Hosanna to the Son of God! Right now, they are blind screaming: Crucify him! And it is that, as human beings, that is how we are bipolar, in the morning in worship we dance, shout and give glory to God and after dessert, because it spilled on our shirts, we want to die and be swallowed up by the earth.

“PILATO SAID TO THEM: SO WHAT WRONG HAS HE DONE? BUT THEY SCREAMED EVEN MORE: CRUCIFY HIM! AND PILATO, WANTING TO SATISFY THE PEOPLE, RELEASED THEM TO BARRABÁS, AND DELIVERED JESUS, AFTER WHIPPING HIM, TO BE CRUCIFIED.”

Mark 15. 14-15

Now, what are we going to do, allow the adversary to frustrate the divine plans? Are we going to allow the cry of our laments to corrupt the divine plan? How are we going to continue to act in the face of adversity or are we going to face it as Jesus Christ did for each one of us? We are going to win this game in the dark but by one success!

Envy is better aroused than feeling it, popular sarcasm.

A few days ago I had a strong upset with one of my co-workers. My level of English is sufficient to speak calmly and for my interlocutor to do it in the same way, but that is a lot to ask for some English speakers, especially due to the frustrating process of not having a fluent chat in English, which makes it impossible in some occasions that likewise, the work is easy because of those misunderstandings. But when I reflect on this episode in my life, I have been able to ask myself: to what extent was all this discomfort really caused by me? What really is the background to this situation? Is envy in the middle of all this chaos? And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but he did not regard Cain or his offering. That is why Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry?" Why has your countenance fallen? If you do good, will you not be exalted? But if you don't do good, sin is at the door and will seduce you; but you must rule over him. We have lived this story of envy and chaos since the genesis of humanity and, of course, in the judgment of Jesus it will also be lived.

"BECAUSE I KNEW THAT THE MAIN PRIESTS HAD GIVEN HIM TO HIM OUT OF ENVY."

Mark 15. 10

Even Pontius Pilate knew the evil intentions of the clergy of Jesus' day. There are no good intentions when you want to kill a righteous man. There is no desire to do good when we criticise, in any case, out of envy we move to rant about our brothers. It is in us, now that we can identify that we could be acting out of envy, breaking with the mental structures that have tied us for years.

Let us not follow the same attitude as the currents of this century. God redeemed us to act according to the Mind of Christ. Let us be free, because for that, Christ paid with his blood for the freedom of all humanity.

Let us give fish but let's teach how to fish.

THE story tells that the Soviet dictator Stalin, one day met with his main leadership, because they had to discuss a matter with respect to the people. He told them that he would teach them the greatest lesson of their lives. Hidden had a hen, Stalin took it out and began to pluck it without any consideration. The poor desperate animal fled from his mistreatment throughout the room but was easily captured again and after a long time and the hen completely bloodied, he did not want to continue fleeing. Just at that moment, Stalin began to feed her and that poor animal, badly treated and injured, surrendered to his executioner to eat from his hand. This is how you treat the people, Stalin said, you mistreat them and then give them some food, so they will fall asleep before the government and the laws that we impose on them. This has always been the strategy of those who want to dominate and subjugate us to achieve their own desires.

"AND THE CROWD COME, BEGAN TO ASK THAT I DO AS IT ALWAYS DID THEM."

The Roman poet Juvenal, in 100 BC said: Bread and Circus for the people, which was the same strategy that Stalin used. But the Jewish clergymen of the time of Jesus of Nazareth also used it constantly, as they learned that to achieve their objectives, it was enough to stir up the people and give them a piece of bread, and "the currents would take the course they wanted." What we must understand is that this strategy is still a mental manipulation, therefore, it is witchcraft and sorcery. Here we see another aspect of the disastrous judgment against Christ, the demonic intervention through the clerics of the time, as well as the people who were subject to their lies and to the manipulation of the kingdom of darkness.

"AND PILATO ANSWERED THEM SAYING: DO YOU WANT ME TO RELEASE THE KING OF THE JEWS?"

Mark 14. 9

When you are hungry, you do not think about it, and Pilate knew this perfectly. Therefore, he argued with them so that they would see the injustice that was being committed against Jesus of Nazareth. Today we have many people around us who speak to us and tell us about how bad we are doing and what we are wrong about. Unfortunately, like the hen, we run in favour of the one who gives us the food that interests us: sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking, lies, theft and a very long etc. instead of seeking the Truth and giving freedom, in this case to the Holy Spirit, to act in each one of us. We only have to repent and accept all the gifts that God gives us and recognise that only with Jesus Christ we have everything we need without continuing to run after our executioners, but before our Father of love who would never mistreat us.

ANOTHER ATROCITY

There is no worse blind than the one who does not want to see.

ONE of the most terrible paradigms of humanity is the acceptance of human atrocities. We can observe it in World War II and how a whole society incorporated genocide in a systematic way of all those they considered undesirable. We are talking about Jews, Christians, homosexuals, gypsies, dissidents, but we must also consider the military authors of that conflict themselves; it is considered that there were sixty million victims in that war. In our society, we have victims of our own system and of course, we are not executing them in gas chambers, but we are not giving them the support they need, we are turning our backs on them.

"NOW, ON THE DAY OF THE HOLIDAY, A PRISONER WOULD RELEASE THEM, ANYONE WHO REQUESTED."

Mark 15. 6

We continue in the trial of Jesus of Nazareth and, as we have already seen, apart from being plagued with irregularities, now we will see one more atrocity. It was a custom to release a prisoner at those parties. Of course, one would expect the innocent to be released. However, just as we would act today, they will choose the style that an evil mind would do. Today there are many who need to be released such as drug addicts and alcoholics, but there are also discriminated foreigners, women who suffer sexist violence, people who suffer racial, ethnic or cultural violence and many more that I cannot list.

"AND THERE WAS ONE CALLED BARRABÁS, A PRISONER WITH HIS COMPANIONS IN THE RIOT WHO HAD COMMITTED HOMICIDE IN A REVOLT."

Mark 14. 65

Barrabas, became a pseudo protagonist of this trial for emulating the perversity of the human mind. Reality passes in front of us when with our acts of injustice, we allow the innocent to be the one to pay for the fault of the guilty. Like when we make a false judgment or raise a slander against one of our brothers - in the figurative sense - causing him to fall from grace. What we have to do now is, repent and believe in the one who with extreme silence, took charge of paying for all our faults. Let us no longer do the Barrabas and follow the Path that Christ marked for us.

 WONDERING THE PEOPLE

 

 

Getting the best out of any situation will depend on our aptitude.

                          

 

 

 

 

                              MY mother often says: no fly enters a closed mouth. And this phrase has been with me throughout my life, but it has not been easy to apply. If I had to make a list of times I've screwed up with a friend or a situation by not keeping my mouth shut in time, I wouldn't make this devotional and could write a whole book of anecdote. I also learned that a wise person is usually quiet and only speaks when the occasion calls for it. One of the gifts that the Spirit of God grants is wisdom, in addition, learning to control our body is part of another gift and we can recognize it as self-control. This same gift allows us to go against injustices, as when Christ drove the merchants out of the Temple: They arrived in Jerusalem; and when Jesus entered the temple, he began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple; he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold the pigeons, and did not allow anyone to carry any objects through the temple. And this same power that acted in Jesus of Nazareth, was the one that allowed him to stand firm before his accusers and before Pontius Pilate.

 

"AGAIN PILATO ASKED HIM, SAYING: ANYTHING ANSWER? SEE HOW MANY THINGS YOU ARE ACCUSED OF.”

 

Mark 15. 4

 

Definitely Jesus of Nazareth was made of another fibre, of course, I do not mean one hundred percent of his divinity. If anything, I appeal to the human part of him. Well, as much as the Holy Spirit of God dwells in us, if we do not listen to it, we will effectively do our will. So, guidance will be lost and of course wisdom and self-control will not work in our lives.

“BUT JESUS ​​NOT EVEN WITH THAT ANSWERED; SO PILATO WAS WONDERFUL.”

Mark 15. 5

 

If Pilate marvelled at Jesus' rare strategy of keeping silent, can we imagine the impact we can make on society by being wise and having control or self-control? This would mean that we would be a faithful reflection of Christ and in this way we would demonstrate that he really rose from the dead and lives in each one of us.
