PEACE: A DIVINE GIFT

Peace is an almost unattainable global goal.

DURING this week, together with other ministries worldwide, we will be talking about Peace. All humanity day after day cries out for her; currently in many regions of the world, a war is being waged under the pretext of seeking Peace. To go looking for Peace, millions of people throughout the history of humanity have given their lives uselessly. But, the only way to find Peace and apply it to our lives, is by accepting Jesus of Nazareth as the Saviour and Redeemer of all humanity. Therefore, imperatively, the Master said:

“PEACE I LEAVE YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE YOU; I DO NOT GIVE IT TO YOU AS THE WORLD GIVES IT. NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID"

John 14.27

Analysing this verse, we find that in the first sentence, Jesus Christ categorically affirms that He has already left us Peace. So why do we live with so much discord and strife among ourselves? Jesus Christ, reaffirming said: that he has left us his Peace. But do we really understand what it means and implies to have the Peace of Christ in each one of us?

 

“BUT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, KINDNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE; AGAINST SUCH THINGS THERE IS NO LAW.”

Galatians 5.22-23

As Christians, we recognise these passages as the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. And we just read that the third fruit is Peace. In the first paragraph I stated that only by having Jesus Christ in our hearts, we will achieve Peace. Because the only way to obtain the fruits of the Holy Spirit is by accepting the eternal government of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must make it a reality that the Mind of Christ acts in us and leads us to the Peace that only God can give us as a divine gift.

THAT'S IT…

The worship of God renews our strength and gives us vitality.

IT IS amazing to consider our own lifestyles compared to when we were young. We had no more responsibilities than studying and doing some chore at home. Now we are people with family, marital, economic obligations, in short ... everyone knows what they are living. Now we have a lifestyle in which we strive and fight to achieve our goals and purposes, understanding of course that we do it seeking, doing the will of God. I learned a lesson through a bad experience and reflected: I have done so far, now it is up to God to make God. So that's when I heard: There, let me show you, who "I AM".

“THE THIRD TIME IT CAME, AND SAID TO THEM: SLEEP NOW, AND REST. ENOUGH, THE HOUR HAS COME; BEHOLD, THE SON OF MAN IS DELIVERED INTO THE HANDS OF SINNERS.”

Mark 14. 41

Jesus of Nazareth spent three hours crying out to the Father because he was between the dichotomy of presenting the perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of the sins of all humanity, or simply living. What would have happened if God the Father accepted the cry of Jesus of Nazareth? Surely, we would be in another saving way because God was seeking to reestablish the fallen relationship with the human being. Sometimes we cry out and cry out but supposedly we don't see God's response. However, God never stops speaking to us, because even God's profound silence in our anguish and despair is His way of giving us His answer.

“GET UP, LET'S GO; BEHOLD, THE ONE WHO GIVES ME IS APPROACHING.”

Mark 14. 42

That's it, God's plans, whatever it may be, are going to be fulfilled. Do you agree and at the rhythm of God? Perfect, more, even if you do not agree or in God's time, his plans are going to be fulfilled. Judas Iscariot, the traitor fully fulfilled the purpose in the divine plan. Today we see him as a bad figure in the ministry of Jesus Christ, but there had to be a Judas in this part of the plan. The important thing is, consider in which part of the process we are and let God tell us: "this is it, now is my time."

THE POWER OF HIS WORDS

 

 

Everything revolves around Christ, because he is the author and finisher of faith.

 

 

 

                                                BEING a Christian is much more than praying a prayer of acceptance to Christ. Being a Christian implies a lifestyle where we allow Christ to manifest in our lives so that other people recognize that he was risen, just as the evangelistic books say. Placing our entire life in the hands of God, in the first instance, was not easy at all. When we recognize that Christ is the Lord and God of life, our whole being begins to undergo a tremendous change. And giving up our character to be moulded into the image of Christ is honestly a painful process and even sometimes frustrating and one that we will want to abandon. The Apostle said: So we must not tire of doing good; because if we are not discouraged, in due time we will reap. Obviously, allowing our character or way of being, is a way of doing good.

"Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass until all this happens."

 

Mark 13. 30

 

 

 

The verses that we will see on this day we can take both for the church in a general way, as we can appropriate them. Within the change to our character it is necessary to understand that each life will live eschatologically what Christ spoke. In the same way, each generation and era will live the eschatological and apocalyptic events as much as history has shown us.

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away."

 

Mark 13. 31

 

 

 

 

 

However, what we are going to do will depend on each one of us. What will happen to our generation? What will we do with each of our actions? What answers are we going to give our grandchildren about our Christian life? What will they say of the post-Covid generation in five centuries? What will we tell God about each of our negligence? Being able to raise our heads before the White Throne of God should be our next personal goal. For now, if we allow our way of thinking to be like that of Christ it will be a good goal to reach, remember not to lose heart, that surely, we will reap because the words of -Christ have a lot of power.
