LET US EXAMINE OUR LIVES

Self-criticism is the best ally we can have.

TODAY is December 31, 2021. For many, it will be another year to forget. For others, it will be a year that represented hope, blessing, goals achieved, in short, it will be a precious opportunity to thank God for all that he did and will do in the next 2022. But, how will we know if the year 2021 really did it bring any benefit to our lives? The Word of God tells us: By their fruits you will know them. Do you pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Thus, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Therefore, how will we know what our fruits are if we do not have a list of goals, objectives and we do not know the purpose of our life?

“WITHOUT PROPHETIC VISION THE PEOPLE WILL PERISH; BUT HE WHO KEEPS THE LAW IS BLESSED.”

Proverbs 29.19

The Gospel of Christ offers us a prophetic vision so that we do not get lost but rather move on the right path that we must follow. Every year, I receive a guiding word that helps me to follow and meet the goals set in July of each year. In other words, my new year starts in July when I begin to write my goals for five years, one year, and month by month. This helps me follow through on these personal goals guided by the Holy Spirit. In the year 2022 the guiding word that will guide us will be: So that you walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in everything, bearing fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God.

“EXAMINE ME, OH GOD, AND KNOW MY HEART; TRY ME AND KNOW MY THOUGHTS; AND SEE IF THERE IS A PATH OF PERVERSITY IN ME, AND LEAD ME ON THE ETERNAL PATH.”

Psalm 139. 23-24

To finish this cycle of devotionals in 2021, two tips I want to leave:

1- We have to walk hand in hand with God. Let us bear fruit regarding what God has put in each one of us. Let us thank and thank God at all times and we love to seek his presence and increase our knowledge of Christ.

2- Let God examine us and evidently, let him correct us. The Holy Spirit will tell us what is really wrong with each of us. And thus, we will learn to stand firm on the eternal path that will sustain us in the Kingdom of God and his justice.
