FOLLOWING IT AWAY

THERE is something that always haunts us and we cannot help it, our shadow. The problem is when we try to follow Jesus Christ from the shadows and not getting into the ring because of the fear of what they will say, because of the shame that we are accused of being extremists or fanatics or because of any kind of excuse that makes us live a light Christianity, which is very common these days. When we decide to have a Christian lifestyle, we must understand that there will be many difficulties and trials that will befall us. But that, for no reason can we afford to abandon our faith and, of course, deny the saving action of Jesus of Nazareth on the Cross of Calvary.

The Apostle Paul said: Therefore, since we have around us such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also shed all weight and sin that so easily envelops us, and patiently run the race that lies ahead. In this case, for Jesus' trial, his witnesses were his own executioners. It is regrettable to see that those who should preserve divine status and recognise God's times were not wise to recognise that the incarnate God was before them and worst of all, that they themselves would condemn him to death, just because he was there. showing the true meaning of the Kingdom of God. At the end of the day, they, that is to say the Scribes, Pharisees and the religious court of the moment, always followed God from as far as possible, making a god in his image and translating or interpreting the Word at their convenience.

Peter was not following Christ from the shadows and although he was not aware at the time, he was fulfilling a promise given by Christ that he would be shaken by the adversary. But Peter would overcome this test, because he was scared following the events that would happen to the Master from afar, but his loyalty and passion to extend the Kingdom of Christ could never be doubted. And we, how would we look good if they come tomorrow to shake the darkness in the same way that Peter experienced it?
