SAD AND DISTRAUGHT
He demonstrated his humanity with simple acts.
HOW to know someone sincerely? We could consider that the best option is to spend a lot of time with this person, in the same way that we usually do with our partners. However, this is no guarantee that we will meet them. For example, despite these twenty-three years of marriage to Ani del Rio, I guarantee that there are many surprises that I take with me every day. Jesus Christ in his earthly time, knew how to surround himself with people who believed in his vision and his message. Not for this reason, they were free to discover surprises, one from the other. Jesus was minimally surrounded by the apostles and others, but he did not demonstrate his full humanity to everyone, he only did it in front of those who would have to be his true witnesses.
"So they came to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples: Sit here while I pray."
Mark 14. 32
Gethsemane means: "the squeezed olive." There, he would be squeezed to the maximum to give himself to others in such a way that, he would free all humanity once and for all from the Machiavellian works of the adversary. How many times do we get out in the middle of the crisis of problems with the intention of avoiding it? Christ had it clear, if he had fled from the place where a terrible sadness and anguish arrived, today we would be telling a totally different story. If Jesus of Nazareth had not endured this extreme process, Heavenly Father's plan of salvation would surely have been frustrated.
"And he took Peter, James, and John with him, and began to be sad and distressed."
Mark 14. 33
Let us remember that Jesus Christ is our paradigm to follow. Therefore, if he went through a process of anguish and sadness in the midst of the tremendous resolution to give his life in sacrifice for humanity, why should we not live them? What are we doing when those feelings come into our lives? What will we do the next time when we want to run away from a difficult situation?
