CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL -BEING TOLERANT

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

BEING TOLERANT

Putting yourself in the shoes of others helps us not to judge them.

IT s very easy to raise the finger to judge and criticise others. But how hard it is for us to turn around and look at our navel and discover, as Jesus Christ himself would say: the beam that covers our eyes. During chapter 13 of Romans, we find a series of almost imperative instructions from the Apostle Paul, so that we could demonstrate that God rules our lives. From chapter 14, we will see some recommendations for not judging the cultural styles of other human beings. The understanding and acceptance that we are a group of cultures worldwide, each one more complex or simple in itself, makes us see how beautiful human multiculturalism is. For example, the way of worshiping God in Africa is not the same as in Finland. In the same way, the male dress in the West with pants and shirts, can be very different in Samoa or in the indigenous tribes of Africa. The same can happen with people who consume only fruit or vegetables, or those of us who are carnivores by nature. So trying to follow the apostolic advice today would be very sensible of us.

“RECEIVE THOSE WHO ARE WEAK IN THE FAITH, BUT NOT TO ENTER INTO ARGUMENTS.”

Romans 14.1

Let us pray together: Heavenly God, please help us to accept that all people are different from us. He allows us to love the different ways of being, even of thinking. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ.

A weak or immature person in faith is not unusual. In the same way that intellectual maturation is in stages, maturation in faith can and is gradual in our lives. For example, I can understand and comprehend the resurrection of Christ, because God healed me of a heart attack. I proved that God can do extraordinary miracles, very strange for doctors. For this reason, today I can categorically say that I accept that all human beings have different scales of maturity of faith, therefore, I have learned to be tolerant with all those around me.

“SOME OF THEIR FAITH ALLOWS THEM TO EAT EVERYTHING, BUT THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE WEAK IN THEIR FAITH, AND ONLY EAT VEGETABLES.”

Romans 14.2

Let us pray together: Jesus Christ, you knew how to be with all the entities of society and knew how to be at the necessary height. That is why I ask you, give me discernment to act in the same way that you did through your Holy Spirit who already lives in me.

The conflict of eating meat that the primitive Church was suffering, was about those who sold the meat for human consumption. Because the priests of Baal were the butchers of the time of the church of Rome. Today we find that the taste for being vegans, vegetarians, comes from the Buddhist trend that entered the West. For this reason, those people who by conviction are vegetarians, vegans, fruit lovers, and the very long etc. They deserve to have their beliefs and wishes respected. Because in the same way that we want to be respected, we have to respect others. Let us not enter into disputes to see who is right or wrong. Let us be tolerant and show that Christ lives in us.

God bless you.
