CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL - FEARED TO THE BONES

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

FEARED TO THE BONES

God's love casts out all fear.

IN our lifestyle there is a fear that is acceptable. The problem with fear and fear is when they dominate us, govern us, and even paralyze us. The fear that is acceptable is the one whose influence in us leads us to respect and love God; Other acceptable fears are those that we demonstrate after experiencing a shock or an emotion so intense that they make us speak even things that seem to make no sense, for example when a lost person appears and immediately begins to narrate a number of lived stories, many of them, fantasies, but because of his trauma and imagination, he simply says them. In the Christian life, we will begin to live supernatural experiences, because the Holy Spirit allows us to live them. The problem is when you want to tell them to others, many times they will take us for crazy and they will not understand us.

“Then Peter said to Jesus: Teacher, it is good for us that we are here; and let's make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”.

Mark 9. 5

This story was so real to the Apostle Peter that the Synoptic Gospels reflected it. How many times has Peter preached it? It is a very overwhelming vision, to see Jesus Christ in glory and majesty, accompanied by Elijah and Moses, this is unparalleled. Imagine for a moment the three world leaders that we admire, regardless of the field of work they occupy, and they appear to us on the road and are walking alongside us, what fear of admiration would we have over them? Wouldn't we continue that path with these leaders?

"Because he didn't know what he was talking about, because they were scared."

Mark 8. 6

Ekphobos is the Greek word used in this verse for fear and is defined as being terrified to the bone. Fear reaches down to our bones. And here we manage to measure how emotional the Apostle was in the face of the spiritual manifestations given in the Christian faith. We see Peter's innocence of mind and the kinds of occurrences that are only said in the mind of a person without evil or wickedness. The Apostle was always ready to be used by the Holy Spirit; remember that a few days before, he was the one who declared that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ and the Messiah; This statement led Jesus Christ to confess that Peter was clearly guided by the Spirit of God. In the same way, this type of fear is acceptable in us, one that by the clear influence and manifestation of the Holy Spirit, we say and act with reverence before God and human beings. A type of fear that makes us reach out and yearn to always live accompanied by Jesus Christ and the powerful manifestation of the kingdom of heaven. Let us live this lifestyle today. Let us live the living God that is within us.

God bless you.
