CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL -A NAIL IN THE SHOE

CHRISTIAN DEVOTIONAL

A NAIL IN MI SHOE

Trying to please the system is the worst choice of our lives.

ON  a certain occasion we went for a walk to the Hot Springs in Manizales. It was a walk of about four hours and I prepared myself physically and mentally. For that day, I was wearing military boots because I considered that these would be of great help to me to climb this moor. Soon, in the first few kilometres, I began to experience as if I had nails in the heel of both feet, but I did not pay much attention to this sensation. Finally, after almost six hours I arrived at the Hot Springs. I could only enjoy these waters for a maximum of one hour because you had to go back home and supposedly downhill would be easier. The truth is when I took off my boots at the hot springs, I already had tremendous blisters on my heels. At the halfway point of coming home, the blisters were now bleeding and the pain was unbearable. I had to give up on the two-week hike and was ill for those two weeks. Similarly, in life, we will meet people who will seek to spoil God's plans for us. On many occasions, they will not be aware, but the nail in the shoe will warn us that something is wrong!

“But he, turning and looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter, saying: Get behind me, Satan! because you do not set your sights on the things of God, but on those of men”

Mark 8. 33

The main function of the adversary is to kill, steal and destroy. The adversary will use the same people that we have around us to make us give up and deviate from our goal, purpose, destiny and divine dream. However, God will constantly send us clear signals that things are not right and that they must be corrected. For our part, in intimate communion with His Spirit, we must learn to depend on him and obey his first voice and thus rebuke the adversary in the name of Jesus Christ. Thus, we will remove those burdens and yokes that besiege us.

"And calling the people and his disciples, he said to them: If anyone wants to come after me, deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me"

Mark 8. 34

Today more than ever we must learn to walk together with Jesus Christ. Our lives clearly and depend on it. Taking his Cross and denying himself, consists of a lifestyle that understands the natural mind does not contribute anything, but the Mind of Christ which is already in us. We must activate and live according to this mentality. Let's not waste time, soon everything that exists will change. For this reason, we will have to evangelize harder than ever, pulling out those nails that divert us and following in the same footsteps as Jesus of Nazareth. Taking his Cross and living as if we were already in the kingdom of heaven.

God bless you.
