RECOGNITION
What God says and
thinks about us is what really counts.
Acceptance of others is a long process that will take us
down uncertain paths. Therefore, all our security, dependence and acceptance
should be subject to what God thinks, provides, and considers of us. However,
the human being looks for these characteristics in other people, who are also
in need of God and are seeking to be filled with these deficiencies. Jesus
Christ said: you are blind leading the blind. This writing I do from
experience, because, as I have written on other occasions, for many years I
sought the acceptance and approval of others before God. Today I am not saying
that I am free of this burden, I am just saying that every day I take up my
cross and follow Jesus of Nazareth to try to reach his height and stature.
“Then a cloud came and overshadowed them, and
from the cloud a voice said: This is my beloved Son; listen to him”.
Mark 9. 7
For a Jew to speak of
the Eternal or the Almighty was an almost untouchable mystical question with
overtones of prohibitive action. For this reason, the opening of the heavens
and the voice of the Heavenly Father speaking about the authority, power and
origin of the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth was a challenge and a new
expectation for those witnesses of said affirmative phrase. Moses, Elijah,
Peter, James, John, the heavenly court, and creation itself were witnesses to
that marvellous and exuberant demonstration of the power of the kingdom of God
over their lives. Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, had been recognized by
God. Now Jesus of Nazareth is officially Jesus Christ. He can already face his
journey to Jerusalem clothed with power and authority, for human beings to
judge, criticize and reject. But he, he is confident, the only opinion that
really matters has already been decreed.
"And then, when they looked, they saw no
one else with them, but Jesus alone."
Mark 9. 8
In the same way, we
should depend on what God says about us. It is enough for us to consider what
the apostle said about the people of God: But you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired by God, so that you may announce
the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvellous
light. If we believed these words of Peter, the world today would be totally
different. Honestly, our world would be different if we lived as what we are:
children of God, joint heirs of grace, bearers of the Holy Spirit and the Light
of the world, from then on, there will be nothing that can separate us from the
love and power of God.
