GET IT OUT OF YOU
God gives us many opportunities to change, if
we do not do it himself, he will act.
SOMETIMES turning a deaf ear is a very bad strategy.
Learning to listen is synonymous with obeying. Constantly in the OT we read
that God says to the people: “listen oh Israel”, and although the tone often
seems like an invitation, it is an imperative. In the same way, God for a long
time usually deals with each one of us, speaks to us and repeats it to us
through different means, be it through a preaching, through the reading of the
Bible, through a pastoral or professional advice, in Finally, God never stops
talking to us and telling us: "listen, my son." Another thing is, as
happened with Israel, that we want to obey him and put into practice what God
asks of us. What we must do is, be aware that after a certain number of times,
God will not tire of us, but he will look for people willing to listen,
therefore, to obey his voice.
“So, they came to Jerusalem; and when Jesus
entered the temple, he began to drive out those who were buying and selling in
the temple; and he overturned the tables of the moneychangers, and the chairs
of those who sold pigeons; "
Mark 11. 15
Today, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Being aware of this high privilege on many occasions will take us a lifetime.
But that neglect of not understanding who we are makes us fill with garbage and
toxic waste for the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We began to negotiate with items
not allowed inside the Temple and, what is more, we allow ourselves the luxury
of making strange and improper pacts that directly threaten the presence of
God. We see these bad negotiations and agreements on a personal as well as a
corporate level.
"And he did not allow anyone to cross the
temple carrying any utensil."
Mark 11. 16
What is it that we are carrying in our lives
that do not belong to the Temple of God? What is it that God has been telling
us for a long time to remove from our lives and we have not yet obeyed Him? Are
we really willing for God to come into our lives to dislodge everything that he
does not like and takes us away from his holiness? What are the customs and
traditions that anchor us to the past and do not allow us to live full freedom?
